Book Submission requirements:
We accept fiction and non-fiction books which focus on unexplained phenomena. We also publish books in other genres (Cookbooks, how-to, Etc) through our sister publishing company, so please ask to see if we are interested in your subject. We are not interested in X-rated subjects, highly controversial political topics, or anything illegal.
Submit your book or one chapter in WORD format in 12-point plain text using Garamond type and set your line spacing to 1.25. Use one space after sentences. Do not use contractions (i.e., don't). Do not include pictures, bold type, italics, art, all caps, or font size changes in your manuscript. The book or chapter should be edited and polished, spell- and grammar-checked, and ready to go to print. By using WORD, you have access to the Editor located at the top right corner of the program. This will find repeated words, grammar, spelling, punctuation errors, as well as other items that are easy to miss. If you are not a professional editor, you'll need to hire one to edit your book. We have an optional editing service available for a fee.
All work should be your own. Only use short excerpts from other books (a paragraph or less) with full credit to the author or publication, if applicable. Photos or drawings must be your own or used with permission with copyright information included.
Send a few photos as separate files and let us know how many photos or graphics you would like to include in the book. This will determine the format. In most cases, all photos will be placed at the end of the book if we use a standard 6" x 9" trade format book. All photos must be your own, or permission from the photographer must be included. Do not get pictures off the internet, use brand logos, or anything copyrighted. You may use AI graphics, or licensed graphics from Adobe, Wikimedia Commons, or other sources with credit.
Standard Book Length:
Book length should be at least 50,000 words to a maximum of 80,000 words, except in the case of a project involving multiple authors.
Novella book length:
Novellas should be approximately 30,000 words in length.
Send the first chapter via email to editor@unxmedia.com for review. If the file is too large, send it by dropbox or link to the cloud. Be sure to include your name, phone number and e-mail address.
We will contact you after reviewing your manuscript to let you know if we are interested in publishing, and what our time frame may be for completing the project. Allow three to six months for completion in most cases. The publishing process takes time.
